The Challenge
Uganda's retail sector is dominated by small merchants who want to sell online but lack the technical resources to build their own stores. Beisome's goal was to give any seller — from a boutique in Nakasero Market to a Kampala electronics shop — a professional online presence in minutes, without writing a line of code.
Building a multi-vendor marketplace that serves both vendors and customers well — with the right balance of simplicity and power — is inherently complex. Payment integration was the other key challenge: most of Beisome's vendors and customers transact via mobile money, not cards.
What We Built
Vendors sign up, choose a store name and category, and can have products live within 20 minutes. Each vendor gets a dedicated storefront, inventory dashboard, and order management panel. Customers browse the marketplace, add to cart, and pay via MTN Mobile Money or Airtel Money — no card required.
The platform handles automatic commission splits on each sale, vendor payout processing, and dispute management. An admin panel gives the Beisome team full visibility across all vendors, orders, and transactions.
